Our first day in California, we headed to Oakland's Marion and Rose's Workshop for our Pop-Up with the gals at Native State.Marion & Rose's Workshopfeatures a collection of fine handcrafted, heirloom quality goods made in the U.S.A. boasting the motto "cherish traditions, not trends;" a sentiment the resonates greatly with us here at Makers Workshop. The sun shining on brick lined streets and the chatter of newly made friends set a welcoming scene for our three hour event.
"Native State is inspired by simple things that are created in the spirit of true craftsmanship and passion. We are children of the mountains and much of our work aims at capturing the essence of the Northern California wild. Among the pine trees and the winding river bed, our products are lovingly and carefully handcrafted with genuinely natural ingredients. We are named for our desire to find ourselves again in a state of nature. To live as our ancestors once did: purely, mindfully, and simply. We use glass bottles, recycled packaging materials, and sustainably sourced and harvested ingredients in each of our creations.
We jumped into this business recklessly, leaving behind a world of machines, steady paychecks, and complexities. Waking up every morning to find that each day holds the same treasure- a promise of the unknown. Gradually, we come to learn that even the tiniest rituals deserve the greatest love."
